AA 165/15

Alumina fibre board

Description

AA 165/15 ceramic fibre boards and shapes are durable lightweight insulating boards for high temperature applications. The "AA" indicates the use of an alumina binder and alumina fibre. This replaces any volatile silica compounds and enables the boards to be used in vacuum, the absence of oxygen, or in conditions in which silicon monoxide vapour is not permitted. The combination of uniform microstructure and high alumina contenet results in outstanding thermal insulation properties. They may be used as hot-face furnace insulation for furnaces operating intermittently at up to 1650°C or continuously at up to 1540°C. They are pre-fired and contain no organic material. The uniform structure allow accurate machining to close tolerances with standard tools.
