"x" indicates suitable for castable or plastic options, "o" indicates suitable for plastic option only.

Insulating castables or gun mixes will generally be used as back-up materials behind these dense materials. In some instances it will be desirable to use dense gun mixes for the hot face where installation by casting or ramming would be too difficult.
